The Screenwriters’ Guild of Nigeria (WGN), is the first arm of the movie industry in Nigeria, "NOLLYWOOD".
The Screenwriters’ Guild was established to promote the interest of writers and raise standards in Script writing.
The Guild carters for over 500 screenwriters nation wide.
WGN's AIMS & OBJECTIVES
1. To promote the interest of Writers nationally and internationally
2. To propagate total security of all Writers
3. To promulgate rules and regulations that could totally promote the well-being of all writers
4. Institution of developmental objectives in the area of Manpower, Human-Capital development and other developmental opportunities
5. Representing the National and International interest of ALL Writers
6. Soliciting for the Security and protection of Writers and Writers' Works
7. Establishing neccessary Structures, Facilities, Networks and other foundational as well as operational objectives
MEMBERSHIP
To join SWGN requires a couple of Congressional things, which are as follows:
A. At least a Training Certificate in Screenwriting
B. Other Training Qualifications
C. At least One year professional experience in Screenwriting
D. Two Passport Photographs
E. Two Professionals as Garantors
D. A Congressionally decided registration fee of N23, 000
